The birth of the Period Party

This is a menstrual party for everyone!
Turning something that would be considered crazy if done alone into a collective celebration.

Menstruation is a monthly celebration and a life experience that half of the global population goes through.

The "Period Party" is initiated by the GoMoond®️ team, a group dedicated to long-term advocacy and promotion of menstrual issues. Approaching it from a celebratory perspective, the festival incorporates various forms of art, interactive games, lectures, performances, workshops, and food and beverages, all revolving around the theme of menstruation. It aims to present a refreshing and joyful period party atmosphere that captivates attention.

The inspiration came from GoMoond®️ when they attended the biennial World Menstruation Conference in the United States in 2019. They witnessed the similar challenges that menstrual issues face in countries around the world. They realized that menstruation is not only confined to the fields of medicine, sociology, and gender studies, but it also holds immense creative potential. Through art, technology, entertainment, and other dimensions, they sought to bring forth diverse perspectives and ways to engage with menstruation, breaking through traditional boundaries and creating a fresh connection between the general public and menstruation

They hope that participants can approach the event with a more positive mindset and rediscover the significance of their bodies as women. Let's join GoMoond and celebrate menstruation in a joyful way together!

We invite everyone to join GoMoond®️ in leading society to celebrate with menstruation! Let's have a wild time together!

Why is it on 5/28?

The date of May 28th every year is recognized as Menstrual Hygiene Day, also known as World Menstrual Day. It was initiated by the German non-profit organization WASH Alliance in 2013. The choice of May 28th represents the average duration of menstruation, which is 5 days, and the average menstrual cycle, which is 28 days. Among the 365 days in a year, this day holds special significance for us!

On this day every year, people all around the world come together in various ways to celebrate menstruation. These celebrations can include gatherings, exhibitions, films, advertisements, community connections, artistic creations, and more. And here in Taiwan, it is the Menstrual Celebration Festival that you are currently participating in!

WeAreCommitted

"#WeAreCommitted" is the theme for MHDay 2023, aiming to unite people's efforts and advocate for global engagement in menstrual-related issues. The goal is to work towards a future where menstruation is normalized as a part of everyday life, by the year 2030
